The group has carried out in-depth research solve the environmental issues such as the lack of data on biological toxicity and behavior of pollutants in watershed, the complexity of toxicity assessment and the quantitative detection of pollutants, and the low efficiency and poor environmental friendliness of pollution control technologies.
Main Research Findings
1. The ecotoxicological effects, the joint toxicity, the relationship between structure and activity, the relationship between structure and biodegradability of typical organic pollutants in Songhua River were studied systematically. A forecasting model for ecological risk of pollutant with good prediction effect was constructed, and the mechanism was realized;
2. The process of cell pretreatment was improved, and an in situ cell electrochemical detection method was established, which provided a label-free, simple, rapid, low-cost and high sensitive method for toxicity detection of pollutants and water safety evaluation;
3. A highly efficient environment-friendly hybrid solid acid catalyst with controllable morphology was prepared and applied to the synthesis of biodiesel and organic chemicals from biomass under mild conditions and atomic economy. A novel photocatalytic material with solar photocatalytic activity was designed and immobilized on the surface of optical fiber. The optical fiber photocatalytic reactor system was established;
4. A new technology for preparing nano-materials based on heavy metal hyperaccumulator residues and urban greening plant residues has been developed and successfully applied to removing pollutants in aquatic environment, which provides new ideas and theoretical support for the utilization of abandoned vascular plants.
In recent years, the group has undertaken more than 30 research projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Provincial Science and Technology Department, Ministry of Environmental Protection, etc. The research achievements have been awarded once Second Prize for Natural Science Award of Ministry of Education. The group has gained two national innovation patents and has published two monographs and over 80 papers in the international well-known academic journals, such as Environmental Science and Technology, Applied Catalysis B: Environmental and Green Chemistry.
